Birds

Penguins swim but don’t fly and there are 17 different types. There are 13 types in NZ.
They have no feathers on their wings. 

Habitat

Is a home for penguins. Penguins are found in NZ, Australia, south america and Antarctica
and sometimes sleep in the sea.


Nesting

Is when they find a mate and lay their eggs. They make their nests out of rocks.
Some make their nests in bushes and holes in the ground.
homing is looking after their babies and protecting their babies from danger.

Dangers

Their enemies are Killer whales, Sharks and Seals. Large gull’s try to take their eggs and babies.

Anzac day is the day we remember the men with the big sakrafic so each year we go to the memorial to pray about these men that are  not survivors and not make it home. WE are sorry for what has happened  to the kind men that have saved our lives. Here is a picture of the memorial.

The Anzacs were The Australian and New Zealand Army Corps In the ww1 In 1915.

Who were they fighting?

They were fighting soldiers from Turkey

Gallipoli is in Turkey

How many soldiers died? 

More than 8700 Australians and  2779 were New Zealanders.

Whats in the bag?

For what’s in the bag activity we had 1 blue marble and 5 yellow marbles.  The probability for yellow being picked was higher.

The goal was to find which colour which will most likely to be picked this is called the probability. Yellow had 5 marbles in the bag and Blue had only one so I picked yellow 8 times out of 11 tries. and blue got picked 3 times. 

           

Ted the pug.

Tonight 5 mints ago a pug named ted came in are garden and wanted to play. My brother was so scared and thought he was being chased. The dog was so funny when I met him he was so hyper he was running around the house for 5 minutes. He was so cute it was the funny because he tried to escape when he hear his owners voice. His owner was in the garage with him he was getting something by his car then he ran away across the road. What a naughty pug he is. His name was Ted.

Jolly Jars

This term, our Project Based Learning (PBL) started with us having to form groups and collaboratively create Jolly Jars for the school fair. This task helped us to begin exploring our PBL question for the term - How can we build community through our actions? We had to research ideas, be creative with our product, experiment with our materials and write instructions that could be followed by others.

Reflection on PBL:
For our Jolly Jar my group did sock puppets.

I contributed to my group by working with them and listening to their ideas.

Our Jolly Jar was creative because we put different things on the jars and noone else made sock puppets.

What I learned about working with others was hard because I was not working with my friends. Because of this I had to work with others that I am not used to.

How did we build community through our actions? Doing something for the community.
Jolly jars are a good idea because you can put stuff in it instead of carrying all the stuff. There were old toys that we donated to other kids. They would like to give it a go. My brother bought a jar and created the snowglobe and I had to help him do it because he can’t read the instructions. Mine was a lot different to him. I had a bit smaller writing than his. You need to have an inspiring title so people don't think your jar is boring.  You follow the steps to get an inspiring jar.

My date of Birth!

The date of my birth is April the 28 and it is going to be on a school day. On a Tuesday after school I would like to  go to the movies with my BFF's like Gab, Arielle, Lilly, Amelia, Jaydin, and Tu. I hope my Mum gets me a Harry Potter Hogwarts Castle birthday cake. There is this blue box I really want with a lot of stuff like dolls in it and my mum said if it goes on special she can buy it for me YAY! I will be opening my gift after school. I Get to choose what is for tea, and the place is called American Diner 66. I love the curly fries with the fried chicken. The pudding is really good with the milkshakes, especially the strawberry ones. I can't wait for my birthday!
